Sean "Spoatcoat" Brown is a Detroit-born writer, actor, director, and hip-hop/soul artist whose life story is the foundation of Born and Raised. A highly accredited multi-hyphenate creative, he has written and produced 8 feature films — beginning with his debut Another Heist in 2004 — and has starred in and produced all 3 seasons of the hit sitcom My Step Kids. He has spent decades honing his craft both behind the camera and in front of it — and in the recording booth. Born and Raised draws directly from his own journey through the streets of Detroit, the pull of music, the weight of family, and the power of faith. As the founder of BUP Films and Buzzed Up Muzik, Sean has built an independent empire on authenticity, hustle, and an unshakable belief in his story.
